That's not a compliance formality — it's the core design of the app. Most of what a typical privacy policy has to explain (what happens to your data on our servers, who we share it with, how we secure our database) doesn't apply here, because there is no server and no database except the one on your own phone. The rest of this document covers the standard sections anyway, so it's complete — but the on-device-only design is the reason most of them are short.
This policy is for PMU Aftercare Tracker (the "app"), developed and published by BloomStudio ("we", "us"). If you reach us about anything in this policy, use info@bloomstudioapps.com.
Everything below is written to your device's local storage only, using the operating system's standard app-data mechanisms (iOS/Android app sandbox storage). None of it is transmitted to us or to any third party by the app.
| Data | What it is | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Procedure info | Which procedure(s) you're tracking and their dates | On-device app storage |
| Progress photos | Photos you choose to add to your healing timeline | On-device file storage, additionally excluded from iCloud/Google Auto Backup |
| Reminder settings | Your balm/water-avoidance/freshen-up schedule and preferences | On-device app storage |
| "Is this normal?" usage | Which "is this normal?" screens you've viewed | On-device app storage |
| Language preference | Your selected in-app language | On-device app storage |
| Progress-tools unlock status | Whether you've unlocked reminders and the photo journal | On-device app storage |
We — the developer — never receive, see, or have access to any of this. There is no backend database of user data for this app. If you contact your PMU studio's own systems separately (e.g. booking an appointment on their website), that's between you and them, governed by their own privacy practices, not this app's.
Progress photos document healing from a cosmetic procedure, and the app's "is this normal?" tool asks you to compare what you're seeing against "normal," "watch closely," and "see a doctor" categories. Because of that framing, photos may be considered special-category (health) data under GDPR Article 9 and similar laws elsewhere — so we treat them with extra care:
Honesty note on backup exclusion: we configure the app's own storage to opt out of automatic OS backups, and that's been implemented and tested to the extent possible without a full range of real-device backup/restore testing across every iOS and Android version. It's possible for a device's overall backup behavior to be affected by settings outside the app's control. We'll keep this policy updated if that changes.
The app's typefaces (Fraunces, Inter, IBM Plex Mono) are bundled into the app itself. Earlier versions downloaded them from Google Fonts each time the app opened; that request has been removed, so displaying the app no longer contacts any outside server.
Aside from in-app purchases — handled by the App Store or Google Play, see below — the app does not send your procedure information, photos, reminder settings, or any other data off your device.
Reminder notifications (balm, water avoidance, SPF, progress photos, touch-up, freshen-up) are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device, using your operating system's local notification system. There is no push-notification server — we don't know when, or whether, you receive a reminder, because that information never leaves your device.
Some features (the reminder system and photo journal) require a one-time unlock. Any purchase is processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never see, receive, or store your payment information. Apple's and Google's own privacy policies govern that transaction.
The Settings screen has a "Send feedback" button. Tapping it opens your device's own email app, addressed to support@bloomstudioapps.com, with nothing pre-filled by the app except a subject line. We only see what you choose to write and send — the app doesn't transmit anything on its own.
If you reach this app through a specific PMU studio's link, the app may display that studio's name, colors, and contact/booking links. This is configuration data built into the app, not information collected about you, and doesn't involve sending any of your data to the studio.
Because your data lives only on your device and we never receive a copy, most data-subject rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) are things you can already exercise directly in the app, instantly, without contacting us:
If you still want to contact us about any of this — including if you believe we've somehow gotten something wrong here — email info@bloomstudioapps.com.
Your data stays on your device for as long as you keep the app installed, or until you delete it yourself within the app. Uninstalling the app removes everything.
Since app data never leaves your device, there's no cross-border transfer of your procedure, photo, reminder, or settings data. In-app purchases are processed by the App Store or Google Play under their own data handling (see "Purchases" above).
This app is not directed at children and isn't intended for use by anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children — and per the design described throughout this policy, we don't collect (i.e., receive on a server) data from anyone, of any age.
If how the app handles data changes, we'll update this policy and change the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes (e.g. if we ever introduce server-side features) will be called out clearly rather than folded in quietly.
